This year's National Lexile Study examines student engagement and literacy growth across the last three school years to provide an extensive analysis of how the pandemic impacted learning for 750,000+ students, whether they were at home, in school, or using a hybrid approach. Key findings include:
- Students of all racial and ethnic groups experienced strong acceleration when engagement was high.
- Highly engaged learners achieved 3.6 to 4.4 times their expected reading growth across all learning environments.
- Despite limited access to online learning, engaged students obtained higher than expected Lexile growth.
